April 1st with a new challenge

20 or so years ago I had a mental block against the appreciation and beauty of Landscape Art. Today I am completely in love with it. This is a perfect time for many of us to paint a wintery landscape. I hope all of you that are getting snow are snapping away reference photos for future paintings. The landscapes don't have to be cold. Paint what inspires you. This challenge will be for the entire month of February.

I left a comment on the previous challenge for those who participated in last month's Art Sales 101 challenge. I will be emailing the four artist who completed the challenge very soon. We still have some distance to go before we can launch as a collective art group on Ebay or Etsy. Let's see if we can work out the small stuff and find a way to make this happen.

The Rules-for now

Anyone is invited. Anyone can be rejected. The closer you abide by the rules the better of you'll be.

1. All submitted pieces must be done in paint. Acrylic, Oil, Egg Tempura, Watercolor, etc. It must be your original work.

2. You must cover the entire surface area. This forces you to design a completed composition. The only exception is for the watercolor purist-and it better be good.

3. Photographs of your artwork must be sharp, cropped and ready for the world.

4.You must have a Blog. They are free. Artwork submitted will be linked to a blog where others may go to leave comments and in some instances give a detailed critique.

5. You must submit your full name and blog address every time you participate in a given challenge along with your photo.

6. You must follow the guidelines outlined in each particular challenge to the letter. Please note that the specific rules for each challenge will change and is designed to keep you on your toes.

7. Artist are to treat each other with respect, honesty and fairness.

8. Once your sure you've done everything right, whisper a prayer and email your submissions to artistalicethompson@live.com and write Calypso Moon Artist Movement submission in the subject line or your email will be deleted and lost in Cyberspace- Forever.
